Siberian squill

 These little blue star-shaped flowers, Siberian squill, are one of my favorite spring blossoms.

Three weeks later, the ferns have nearly completed their unrolling.

Soaking dal

Yellow dal (lentils), soaking in a bowl overnight before we cook them, most sinking but some floating and pulled together in hexagonal patterns by surface tension.

Crocus

One of our few crocuses this spring. We've been unable to keep them planted, since the squirrels seem to love to dig them up and eat them.
