Fish Guitar, Country Music Hall of Fame, Nashville, TN
We quickly discovered, however, that we had made a critical mistake in our understanding of the Country Music Hall of Fame. You see, we had thought is was a museum, when really it is a shrine. Going there, one learns basically nothing about music---and mostly certainly not the history of country music, which is quite literally whitewashed in its microscopically brief presentation. Instead, one mostly just sees a pile of stuff that particular famous musicians have decided to buy or wear, often with an only-meaningful-to-fans note along the lines of "Joe Smith played this guitar at his legendary Houston concert in 1973". A few of those things are pretty neat, though, like this fish guitar.
