Statue of Liberty, New York Harbor

The Statue of Liberty sits small and isolate in New York Harbor, much less prominent than one might think from its status in our national iconography and myth. We don't welcome shiploads of immigrants like we once did, but instead the harbor is jammed with nearly empty cargo ships, with only a handful of people aboard to handle their massive loads.
