Funky space submarine, Austin TX airport
Austin wants you to know that it is weird, right from the moment you enter the airport and start seeing things like this space submarine sculpture thing. Weirdness, after all, is an important part of Austin's brand.

Dallas area overpass
The design of this Dallas-area overpass and highway interchange is very unusual: rather than a typical cloverleaf shape, it has this rectangular "belt-buckle" shape with extended perpendicular connections into a parallel road, on which the entries and exits are offset.
Cows and circles near Dallas
Cows clustering in a field of yellowed circles outside of Dallas. Faintly in the center of the biggest cluster of cows, you can see the cylindrical steel wireframe of a feeding station. I think the circles are where the cows damage the grass near the feeding station, and that the station is moved from time to time to allow the fields time to slowly recover, which would be consistent with the different degrees of "fading" on the circles scattered around the field.
