At this time in Autumn, the spillway was nothing but baked dry dirt through the yellow-green banks on either side.

Since this is a lake in Iowa, it is, of course, not natural. I'm sure there must be some, but every lake I've seen in my time here is a dammed watercourse of one sort or another. This little wood and metal bridge goes over the concrete spillway in its earthen dam.
