The "big city" of St. Thomas is Charlotte Amelie, an aggregation of houses, businesses, markets, and docks that wraps around the largest harbor of the island, climbing steeply up the hills, with houses and hotels often spread across multiple floors in a distinctly disability-unfriendly manner.
